TRUE BYPASS BOX — firing a whole stack of stompboxes at once is a pain onstage, especially mid-song when you’re supposed to be playing, not tap-dancing.
Wire several pedals into one FX loop and bring the whole chain in or out with a single footswitch — one stomp, full section change.
If a favorite drive or modulation is buffered bypass and dulls your top end or sucks level when it’s supposed to be “off,” parking it in a true-bypass loop gets your guitar or bass back on the straight wire when the loop is disengaged.
